PROJECT DEVELOPMENT/CONVERSION FORMER BARON VON FRITSCH BARRACKS
Project details
Description: The site of the planned Gartenstadt Hannover (former Freiherr von Fritsch barracks) has been used as a barracks location since 1938. Since the abandonment of military operations in 1999, it has lain fallow. In 2005, the approx. 25 ha site was taken over by a German-Israeli investor group, on whose behalf M&P carried out all the necessary planning and investigations to prepare the site for construction. Due to the insolvency of the investor group, this work was stopped for the time being in 2010.
Since 2013, the Niedersächsische Landgesellschaft (NLG) has been negotiating with the BImA to take over and revitalise the site, which led to the purchase of the land by the NLG in 2019. In this context, M&P has also been commissioned with the further planning for making the site ready for construction until it is ready for tender. The commercial work to prepare the site for construction will start at the beginning of 2020 and will be carried out under the expert supervision of M&P.
M&P advises the client comprehensively on all tasks related to the preparation for construction within the scope of planning and execution support:
- Soil and groundwater investigations from the point of view of risk assessment and waste management
- Development and implementation of a soil management concept with special consideration of the on-site recycling of soil materials
- Development and implementation of a clearance concept due to the extensive suspicion of explosive ordnance
- Building pollutant investigation, planning and expert monitoring of building demolition
Nature conservation expert opinions, planning of protection and compensation measures
