The construction of a new bypass between Immenstaad and Friedrichshafen is planned. For this purpose, the existing B31 will be relocated to the north. The overall project has a total length of approx. 7.2 km. The route begins at the end of Immenstaad in the direction of Friedrichshafen and runs in a north-easterly direction north of the communities of Fischbach, Spalenstein and Schnetzenhausen and connects to the existing B31 at its construction end in Friedrichshafen at the existing Colsmanstrasse junction at Riedlepark. After evaluating Allied aerial photographs from World War II, it became apparent that unexploded ordnance, buried ammunition, weapons or other warfare agents are present on the areas to be built on. A concentration of bomb craters and thus suspected unexploded ordnance can be observed towards the end of construction in the area of the Waggershausen tunnel.
Within the scope of this construction measure, the M&P Hannover office is involved in the planning and consulting of the construction site clearance as well as the explosive ordnance clearance.
