The district of Osnabrück, roads department, is planning the expansion or rehabilitation of the existing district road network. In order to obtain information about the appropriate construction method, preliminary investigations of the existing roadway substance are to be carried out in advance of the respective projects. The entire network of district roads covers a length of approx. 640 km.
Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft Osnabrück was awarded the 2017-2018 framework contract for pavement investigations and geotechnical investigations of district roads in the Osnabrück district. The scope of services related to asphalt investigations, soil physics investigations as well as verge and trench material investigations. In this context, Mull und Partner Osnabrück took over the consulting of the district of Osnabrück, the technical services such as traffic safety, sampling and laboratory analysis up to the preparation of expert reports.
In total, more than 200 core drillings for asphalt sampling, more than 100 small pile-drillings for soil investigation, more than 50 bank investigations for waste assessment and approx. 30 pile-driving soundings to determine the bearing density of the soil have been carried out by M&P Osnabrück in the project so far.
