The end of an era is sealed: The landline telephone has had its day. Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft is thus continuing a trend that has been massively transforming everyday office life for years. Digitalisation is the keyword. Away from the analogue industrial age and towards digital technologies and knowledge management. Today, conversations are conducted via digital data packages and work is done via cloud computing.
This transformation brings with it many benefits as well as risks, particularly in terms of data security. Cybersecurity plays an extremely important role for Mull und Partner Ingenieurgesellschaft, and not just out of self-interest to avoid data theft and know-how theft. We have also continued to improve our digital data storage through organisational and technical measures in the interests of our customers. In addition to implementing security guidelines, access controls and group memberships, we rely on redundant data storage, data storage on raid systems, distributed backups, firewalls and VPN access. Within the MuP Group, three data protection officers are responsible for personal data protection. In regular online meetings, they discuss current issues and developments in data protection and data security with each other and with the MuP Group Executive Board.
The digital transformation also poses a challenge for employees on a day-to-day basis and requires a process of change. Working methods and work culture need to be adapted to the new requirements. But, as we all know, progress is unstoppable. The good old telephone is now just a relic from a bygone era.
