The railway bridge over Königstraße was put into operation in 1880. After almost 140 years, the structure has reached the end of its technical service life. The structure contains coal tar sealants with PAH contents of up to 60,000 mg/kg. Furthermore, the overlying superstructure material (gravel, soil) also shows considerable chemical impairments. Due to the tight scheduling (closure periods) and the spatial conditions on the construction site, extensive coordination was carried out in advance with the authorities and waste disposal companies involved. Furthermore, an occupational health and safety concept was drawn up and agreed with the trade supervisory authority. In the course of the implementation of the work, the expert supervision of the demolition work was carried out as well as the waste-technical declaration of all excavation and demolition masses, including the mass and cost register as well as the processing in the eANV.
