In the course of the refugee housing programme, 27 sites were prepared for modular buildings to house refugees in Hannover. Extensive earthworks were required for the development of the sites as well as the foundation work and preparation of the outdoor facilities. Due to the chemical contamination of the sites and the building logistic requirements for the handling of excavated soil, extensive planning and consulting services as well as expert monitoring were necessary in the course of implementation.
